It is my understanding that there is a way to use certain S-10 front spindles that are for anti-lock systems in my '82 El Camino.
If anyone can confirm or refer me to a site that discusses this issue it is appreciated.
I have installed the '09 Pontiac G8 independent rear in the chassis and need to do the front brakes now.

S-10 spindle is a direct fit and identical to the G-body spindle in all but one area...the steering arm is shorter on the S-10 spindle. S-10 steering arm is 6-3/4" long, G-body is 7-1/4" long. It will quicken your steering up a little bit.

Wow, just the info I needed. Would you know what year in particular for the S-10 spindle? 99 or so?

I don't know the particulars on the anti-lock parts of the S-10 spindle years, but for the S-10 spindle in general the ball joint attachment points and other dimensions are the same for the entire production run of the S-10. You should be able to use any S-10 spindle you want, just pick one from a year with anti-lock brakes if that is the feature you are after.

It turns out that the stock El Camino can be retained with the use of the 99 S10 backing plate/speed sendor ***'y and S10 rotor. Fits like a glove!!
