El Diablo?
Has anyone ever heard of an El Diablo? I'm stuck thinking it was the performance version of a regular El Camino, couldn't find anything on the net aout it, all I get is Satan websites. Was it supposed to have the old Caddy 500 or something like that in it?
 or was it just another trucar? thanx x  hehe unison

I am not certain, but I think that it was a model of the GMC version of the el Camino, late 70s, early 80s.....
Chevy had the "Black Night" version, and GMC had the "El Diablo"..............or, maybe it was the other way around.

 looks like an "el camino" to me in the 70's there was a Ranchero "el grande" ... I guess the car manufactures wanted to lure future workers??

My dad has one. It's a '79. It was the GMC's Black Night. This one is equipped with a 350. Phoenix Graphics just started making a reproduction of the Diablo Package a little while ago. He has the second Reproduction graphics pacakge ever made sitting on top of my Tonneau Cover here in the basement. Kind of a cool car actually.
FWIW, the Diablo in the picture above has no Hood Graphic. And also, the one to start the thread in El Camino Central is my father, GMCDiablo. Cool huh? For the record, it was Diablo not "El Diablo". Here is our Diablo. Not the best picture, but the only one I could find  sorry, its kind of small... It'll have to do for now. I'll get more tomorrow.

The Black Knight was cool,the gold accent stickers looked cool on them. You just don't see them much anymore.As soon as you can get a bigger pic put it up. Meanwhile here is the 85 SS.

Even though it's got run cards in the window, it has been retired from racing (for the most part) at beginning of the season due to low oil pressure, but it did pull a best of a high 16 second pass.
