Electric Fan

If anyone is familure with the 76 Vette you know the radiator is installed at almost a 45* angle. Since the fan sits straight up and down. At the top of the radiator the fan is only 6 inches or so away from the Rad and at the bottom of the fan, the Rad is almost 16 inches away IMO thats alot of air to move for cooling
Would I benefit from installing an electric fan directly on the radiator The way the radiator is mounted the fan would blow air under the car instead of in the engine bay

Im assuming I could remove my stock fan and shroud after that?
Thanks in advance

EDIT* I added a drawing...keep in mind i am NOT an artist

I have a 78 silver anniversary, which I also converted to an electrick fan. I used a stock upper fan shroud from an old pickup and modified it so it would fit upsidedown in the vette. This will deflect air back upward towards the motor and it seems to be working fine cause I havent had any cooling issues.
