electric fan setup
hey guys. on my 84 camaro, i was wondering if it would be better to set up my fans to push in air, or the pull the cool air in? a couple people told me to push the air in wouldnt do any good because of how the front nose of the car is.

If you're going to use electric set it up with a puller fan(s).

fan blades
if your worried about cooling
you can use a dual fan set up
straight blades move more air but are noisier

With electric fans, whenever possible, you want to use puller/s.

Ditto to all of the above. Using a shroud will double the effiency of the puller by drawing air in across the entire radiator.

Is your spoiler under the front still in place, absolutely necessary when moving ?

Yes it's still there.

I made a box shroud and placed two fans on it to cool my 86 Camaro.

And cobbled up a new air dam.

Wow that looks really good, man. I might have to try something like that.

russ69coupe 05-23-2012 04:13 PM

Yeah, if that is cobbled up I would really like to see your "good" work.

98 and up Intrepid fans work great, and are what a lot of V8 S10 guys are using. Here's a shroud idea a lot of folks can use: Baking Pan/Cookie Sheet Fan Shroud
