I have a 383 stroker and I am going to use a electric fuel pump, what is a good brand and don't take all your money, also where would a good place to install it, also I have a cast fuel pump blockoff plate (where the mech pump goes) AND I have heard this is a great area for a crankcase vent. How should I do this if I choose to and where would I purchase a part, thanks
Holly blue max pressure works well. It is preset at 14psi and usually runs less that 100$. For mounting, I would recommend you to mount it as close to the fuel tank as possible so that the pump will not have to draw the fuel to it as far, plus it makes for a neater engine compartment. It is always a good idea to put a filter before and after the pump.
The crank case vent is a matter of opinion. I have seen some drill the plate and tap it for a 3/8 npt. and use -6 to a breathable catch can. the only thing is I don't know how much oil it will pick up. So use your best judgment. Moroso and JAZ products both make nice breather tanks (catch cans).
thanks Brad, I am still toying with the catch can should I or not, thanks again
