Electric fuel pump return

Hey Guys.....have an electric (external) fuel pump feeding to my 350 with an Edelbrock carb. Should I have a return line and if so how do I install it?

yes you should if you can, you just route a line to the return on the tank- if your tank does not have one, well then you have to make one which can be a PITA.

The return line should come off the regulator.

Is it backfiring all the time, or just when you initially press the accelerator?

Set the pressure reg at 4.5 lbs.
Recheck the spark plug wiring sequence and where #1 is at. Does it start and run?

electric fuel pump return

Backfires when I accelerate...most times when I start and sometimes when I shut it down.
