electric power steering to my mustang 1967 eleanor build
hi all . been a while . am nearly finished on my eleanor mustang . just got the electric power steeing up and running. its great and i think you all could use it for some ideas. awsome bit of kit !!

hey oldguy 48 not that old though ??
ok well i posted it in case it gave some of you heavy footed yanks some ideas . over here we are all crammed on this island and dont have the route 66 to drive. i think the longest stretch we have is the m1. maybe 150 miles at a push i havent got any room for power steering so i brought this electric pump and adapted it to run its electonics being pcp board , proccessor and capacitor through my wiring. i also will fit a 2 stage voltage unit to resist the current and slow it down to reduce the pressure when on the motorway ( free way ) and also can turn it off if needed , not sure what else you would like me to post ? any questions ? its from a citreon picasso and the renaults also use them . over here though . cost me £70 in all to buy and fit . just serach on ebay for "citreon electric power steering pump " they range from £40 to £190 cheers for the post , shaun

your welcome . but search on the uk site for it. if you want one i can get it and send it to you ? obviosuly i take no repsonsiblity other than posting it if someone doesnt want to them selves. however do they use them on cars over there ?

Shaun,
Your post interested me because I'm thinking of converting to power steering in my 1948 Plymouth. At this point, I'm just researching the forums to figure out the best way to do it. I've not seen an electric PS pump before and don't know anything about them (until now, with your information), and the idea intrigued me a bit. Now I can take a look at those pumps and maybe get some ideas. Thanks again. Wayne
