Hello! My name is William. I have a problem with the electrical system on my 2002, Suzuki Hayabusa(motorcycle). I put led tag lights on the bike, and rode the bike for almost two weeks, all the while, the main wire harness was in fact burning up, due to the tag lights shorting out. The main wire harness was fried!!! I purchased a new wire harness from ebay, which was off of a 2006, Suzuki Hayabusa. Now, when I turn my ignition on, my headlight does not come on as it once did and is supposed to. When I turn on the left turn signal, the headlight, whether on high or low beam, it blinks as a turn signal with the left turn signal. The right turn signal acts as the daytime running headlight. Yet, if I unplug the right handlebar switch,( which houses the bike kill switch & the bike start switch,), then and only then, will the right turn signal blink as its supposed to!! The headlight will not come on at all ,once the kill switch but connector is unplugged. If I plug the right but connector plug back in, then the right turn signal stays on, but doesn't blink at all!! Just stays lit up as the headlight is supposed to. Please help A.S.A.P. I've called bike shops here in Erie, Buffalo NY, Cleveland OH, etc. etc. all to no avail!!!
Please again, I beg of your help!!!!! Any advice, suggestions at all I welcome!!! William, here in Erie, PA. You can also call me at (814-572-1975) or (814-878-0399).
Thank you....

You are going to need a wiring diagram for both of those years to see if they are identical. To me, it sounds like the handlebar wiring or switch functions are different between those 2 years?

Without a diagram;..If you had lots of patience, you could test the switch functions and the wire colors to all the lights; but that can be difficult with all of the sealed harnesses and sealed connectors.

You should web search for a Suzuki motorcycle forum. We did the same thing on a Honda Quad for a charging problem. Took an hour of seaching a few Honda forums until finding a thread on the exact same problem. Then it took only a few minutes to fix it. We also found links to wire diagrams on those forums.
