Will an 89 Ford 6 cyl electronic TFI-IV distributor fit in a 70 Ford 6 cyl

It depends. If the 89 is a 200 or 250, then it will fit the 170/200/250 engine. If the 89 is a 300, then it fits the early 60s 240 and all 300 blocks.

There is an easier way -- order a Pertronix Igniter and a high voltage coil (doesn't have to be Pertronix). The Ignitor screws in place of your points and condensor and uses the standard cap and wires. You have to run a switched +12V wire to it, that's all. Keep a set of points and condensor in the glove box/tool box for emergencies -- disconnect wire and reinstall points.

You don't get the big distributor cap and fancy wires, but you're not going to be turning enough rpms with that six to make them necessary.
