electronic speedo wiring

I'm rewiring a T bucket that had no wiring to begin with and have two questions. One is the electronic speedometer. The trans is a T350. The sending unit has 2 wires and the speedo has 2 wires( batt. and sender)What goes where?
Secondly, The shifter is an older Hurst "slap shifter" There are 3 contacts on the right side. The top and bottom wire(blue) are spliced into one wire. The middle wire is red. On the opposite side of the shifter there is a small unit with 2 wires(black and orange) What goes where??????????

You didn't mention what speedometer you are using. On mine (Dolphin), the two wires from the sensor come back to the speedometer which has a terminal for both of these wires, one of which is also run to ground. Seeing that you only have two terminals on your speedometer, I would SUSPECT that one is to power the speedometer (batt), and the other is for one wire from the sensor (sender) - the second wire from the sensor may be run to ground and the speedometer case itself should have a good ground. If you can indicate what speedometer is being used, someone might be able to do a little better than just my guessing. Good luck to you.
