The bed is welded to the cab down each side and all across the top. Also the sail panels extend on to the bed for extra strength and across under the back glass there is another strip welded to the bed in fact Randy is welding it for me right now. There will also be extra bracing under the bed to cab.

As Randy said it was a rust bucket but the front clip is going under a 1948 F-1 for a friend of mine. Also it only had 48,000 miles on the inline 6 and it is going in my other friends 33 Plymouth 4 Dr sedan with a 700R4.So we are making good use of all the good parts,I hate to waste an old Chevy.
Did more work on the ElSonoma. I think I will Have to call it a Bel Sonoma now. A friend gave me a 1953 Chevy Belair front cap,so what choice did I have but to put it on my truck. Not finished yet but here are a few pics.
I decided being it is a Sonoma with a Nova back glass and a Belair front cap I will call it the Belsonova instead.I am not finished but did get more done.
Now I wonder what it'd look like if you kept the swept "C" Pillar (yes I know its actually a B pillar) and then added in an extended roof, some windows and a back glass matching the angle of the B pillar. Change the angle of the tailgate
Viola! A '53 Nomad!
