No. On a 1954 Chevy you have to remove the whole tail light assembly and take the lens out from the back. I modified the back to accept the stock twist in bulb sockets that came on my Sonoma. The original bulb sockets came out the back but are held in by spring tension so no tools required to change bulbs only the lens.I just wanted the new style push in bulbs and did not want to have to modify my stock wiring harness.

New Pics

Here are some new pics. Finally got it all one color, but still a lot of work to finish before it is ready to paint and put in the 350 engine. Also got a deal on some Centerline wheels I couldn't pass up. Still have to put new tires before I can put front ones on.

Update

Thanks for the complements, and yes I get a lot of looks and what is it?Here are some pics of what I have been doing. I filled in the front fender gap where the original bumper used to wrap around and a friend gave me a 1955 Chevy grill so I started narrowing it and trial fitting. So now it has 53 front sheet metal,54 headlights and 55 grill.Every part is original GM.

any plans on changing side molding so that it doesn't look anything like an s10 at all?? it maybe because i have one, but i can tell by the side molding or door shape.... wondering if you planned on making it look like something that only some one can dream of?

I have been thinking about that but I have not made up my mind yet. I am kind of making it up as I go.

Main sections that r "s10" giveaways are the side molding and the body like that runs down the middle of the body to the back about half way up. That and the tail lights.... thought about smooting it out or making a wide body to give the fenders flare like an old skool pick up? Or molding in ol' skool caddy lights. The bullet style. Just ideas.

Yes I am considering getting rid of the line that runs front to back and over fenders. You must have missed the tail lights because I already put 1954 Chevy ones. I am also putting a back bumper to match the front and a tail gate like a 54 wagon. Here are more pics.

that's whats up!!!

maybe the lines through the body (aside from the fenders) can just be filled in... and the fender areas can be smoothed to give them a flared look??? no idea on the rear roll pan...

once again.. just ideas.. i'm in no way shape or form able to do any of that yet!!!

can't wait to see it finished!!
