The elusive cure for no spark, and thanks all!
First off Thanks for all the input on my post, 87 Camaro with no spark. It has been a while,soI'm placing this here since I've noticed that no spark seems to be a common problem on these cars although not always for the same reason.
The problem has been fixed. For those interested the fix was simply replacing the knock sensor, and wire connector(old connectors crack and don't hold the wire in place well) on the block just in front of the starter (305 engine) it seems that when the knock sensor goes bad it no longer sends any signal to the computer, as a result the computer absolutely refuses to tell the distributor to spark. We all know what that means LOL NO RUN!!! anyway my baby is back on the road finally and I am proud to be driving it once again. I even successfully rebuilt the 700r4 transmission including a Gill Younger shift kit. once again thanks for the input it is appreciated.
