Enamel, Laquer and clearcoats - how to prep?

I am painting over my motorbike using panther pink and black for striping. So far I have painted most of the bike over flat black...however I have noticed that while most of my paint i used was a acrylic laquer...the latest can i bought (since there was none of the other kind)..is enamel.

I am painting the bike all over black, then stripe it, and paint with pink. My question is, since I want the black to be "flat" for now...can I sand both the laquer and the enamel (after a few days of drying time of course) - with 1500 grit sandpaper? Then tape it up for my pink?

I know you can put enamel over laquer, so I solved a bo-boo I was about to make today with that issue...but here's my next question:

If i can sand both blacks, and I apply my enamel pink paint...I want to apply a clearcoat over all of it once its done...what should I do at this point?

Basically given this is what i have to work with...what should be my steps?

The problem you will have is the clear. If you use a regular clear, the flat black will be shiny. To have it look like flat ,you have to use a flat clear, so everything will be flat looking.

Ok, so beyond that there should be no problem? That's ok by me.

I am wondering tho. I sand the black with 1500 all the way over, THEN do the stripes with tape...

Paint with pink, take off tape...

My question is right here at this point: Do i sand my acrylic enamel pink coat with 1500 as well before I clear the entire thing? or not?

Ok, I picked up some 2000 grit sandpaper as well...just in case

Now, after i have my colours sanded and a coat of clear on to it, i sand it down with 2000 grit sandpaper for a 2nd coat..

should i sand it after this then buff/polish it? Or should i just leave it be?

Also if a rubbing compound is recomended what do you recomend? I bought some turtle wax rubbing compound..but I dont like what I read about it. The clear will be acrylic enamel clear...
