Engine for '57 chev wagon

Guys, Ive been looking for engine for my '57 chevy wagon for about 2yrs now..and i still cant decide, I want sbc for it. some people suggest bbc , others suggest LT1 engines. but then i have to mess with all wiring. but yes theyre reliable in cold winter starts, but i wont drive it in cold winters . So i dont know what to do. should i go with 2 bolt mains too. I dont care to put out 500whp, its heavy wagon and it wont be fast unless i throw on blower. So what are you guy's suggestions. Ill just use it for summer driving and I want decent gas mileage. And with big block ive heard that ill need to relocate engine mounts farther to accomodate it in engine bay. Maybe someone has inexpensive engine for sale?? well any suggestions please post on here. Thank you!!

If you want to stick with a sbc, i would suggest a 400 or 383. You are gonna need as much torque you can get to lug that thing around. Just my .02

re: Engine for '57 chev wagon

would it be practical to install engine on chassis, without body, then put body over engine? cause i wanna take off body off of frame and have frame painted and ill have access to bottom of body, so i can change floor pans.
