Engine building
I want to build my own engine, don't really have a car yet, but I need a to do list to get started. I'm pretty farmiliar with automobiles in general, but to be honest, I don't know all the inerds of an engine just yet. So if you could tell me what I need, and maybe even in what order to get it, that'd be very helpful. Thanks

Go to your local Hastings book store and get a book on this topic. There are tons available. There is no way to outline this on a chat site.

It all depends on what kind of motor you want to build and what you want to put it in. Too many different ways to go.

if you haven't already, go to the Chevy High Performance website. it has tonnes of articles on build-ups which will give you an idea as to the work involved and the parts you'll need. search the tech articles for these titles:
"how to build your first engine"
"build a small-block chevy"
"porting heads"

The books don't tell you everything. When you get to a specific area post your questions first and you'll get more help than you need but you'll get alot of good information. It pays to be patient and doing the job right the first time.

First thing is what motor you want to use, chev, ford, dodge, etc., small or big block. What type of car do you want?

Good luck, this will be an experience and don't get discouraged if it seems to take too long.
