engine building books

If you were about to start into hotrodding with basic understanding of engines but limited knowlege of hotrodding is there one book that would be a must have before you started on a street strip sbc

x2 on David Vizard, before I built my first motor I had NO idea about hot rodding or building motors. His books are great.
