Question engine change

alright, I have an 89 chev pickup with a 305 tbi. i would like to drop in a 350. my main concern is with fuel delivery. Should i stick with the TBI setup for ease of installation, do i have to get a computer for that as well? or can i use the one thats already there and change the chip? or i have thought about a tuned port injection from a camaro or vette, or going carbureted? i would like to have about 300 hp 300 lb/ft torque. any other ideas would be cool.

thanks,

Rene

definately upgrade at least to a stock 350 chip with the tbi, ive heard it will work?? you would be amazed at what paying a little attention to your TBI can do on a budget. before you spend money on parts you dont have, try to get the most out of what you have now, with the 350, of course.

your 350 should run fine with the 305 computer and chip. at least I'm not aware of any significant differences between the two. everything else will match up (wireharness, accy brackets, etc)good luck

ive been trying to get ahold of a guy in my area who swapped a tpi unit with 350 into his 90 chevy to get you some specifics, with no luck. i know i said the tbi is good, but if you want tpi, you should have it. tuned port is a very good set up, just make sure you have a matching computer and all necessary sensors. look for a deal, they can be very expensive, but deals can be found. a friend of mine recently bought an 85 TA with tuned port for $250. and drove it home, he got lucky, you may,as well. in the end, its what YOU want that counts. p.s. trucks rock!
