I`m guessing this is a small block chevy? If so the M indicates GM of mexico. What`s the casting number? Does the block have Hencho en mexico on it?

Sounds typical of a Targetmaster crate replacement engine #.

Doublevision It is a chevy motor and I did recheck it and it does have Hecho en Mexico on it. The casting # is 3970010. I'm trying to find out what the horse power is.

As Eric said, it`s a target master engine. It didn`t come with much power. It has large chamber smogger heads on it and dirt low compression ratio.
These engines weren`t made with performance in mind. But you can use it to build power if you wish.
