engine compartment insulation

I was looking to find a good material to prevent heat migration into the passenger compartment, any suggestions, I had been told that some have used a water based roof coating material with ceramic particals to basically eliminate radiant heat transmission and it also works as a sound deadener. Has anyone tied this ? I have used the foil blanket material works pretty well but pretty hard to keep it looking nice. Thanks

Call around...

maybe even talk to the interior guys about the silver covered product that sticks to the floor under the carpet to sound deaden and keep the heat out of your passenger compartment. Don't know exactly what its called but have seen it for sale. It is a silver foil sandwiched over a sound deadening product that you can glue to the firewall and floor inside your passenger compartment. They also use it in on the floors of racecars to keep the exhaust heat out of the passengers compartment.
