Engine dies after start up....

OK, I have a 76 nova, 350 with all brand new top end. Edelbrock... rpm heads, rpm manifold, 750 carb, fuel pump, camshaft, lifters, push rods timing gear and chain. Rocker rollers, distributor, and so on. I just put all this on. I had some problems with timing(starting) , but got that fixed and got it cranked. I then had problems with my starter, got a new one, and now it starts. BUT NOW... After I crank it it dies after 2 seconds unless I keep the gas pedal pressed. Anybody got some advice.

If you put a new carb on it may have to be tuned and the linkage might have to be adjusted for the engine to keep running. What kind of fuel pump did you put on? something might not be working there and not allowing enough gas in but I would check the carb. if it was not adj. Good luck
