i have a 350 chevy small block and want to know the horsepower . i beleive it was made in 1971.

I have a 1971 chevy 350 enigine with a engine number V1124TR4 and need to know stock factory horsepower, thanks

The code should read VI124TRx where x = some letter not the number 4. The second position should the letter I not the number 1. Txx suffix codes are all trucks. The TRx code covers a host of truck engines from 1972 through 1979. Most, but not all, are 4 barrel rated at 155-175 horse a few are 2 bbl at 145 horse.

The 4th position in the code is the year of motor assembly which likely means 1974 given my interpretation from the rest of the code.
