yes it gets cold, not "canada cold" tho lol. i couldn't tell you on the head casting #, but the guy told me they were 300 horsepower heads. how can the numbers on the back of the block say from 73 if the suffix number says its a 75?

if you can just, pop a valve cover off all the #'s should be right there for you.

sorry i wasn't thinking about the second part of your question but, like you said you were not sure about the #.sometimes it's a real ***** unless the motor is out of the vehicle.even after it's out it can be hard to read the #

it is possible that your engine was put in a 75 car or truck but was built in 73. my 327 came out in a 72poncho and it was built may 5 68

could be, but it doesn't make much difference, i was told it was a crate motor. anyway thanks for all of your help.
