engine identification

I have a 67 Chevy C-10, we are about to take down to the frame. Before starting I wanted to get as much info on the truck as possible. The one item I do not know is what motor is currently in it. I know that it is all stock original, as I am the 2nd owner. Can not find any info on the following numbers; VO826WA. Please help if you know or send me to a site to trace the numbers.
Thanks!

Look at the left rear top of the block, right behind the cylinder head. There should be a 7-digit number cast into it. Take that number to www.mortec.com/castnum.htm and see if it's a 283 or 327. The number might be hard to read and/or cast kinda rough (3's might look like 8's, etc.), so be open-minded when you interpret it.

Might just copy down the numbers of '66-'67 blocks from mortec, then see if yours looks like one of them.

Thanks for the info! I have to do some digging to get the numbers from the back of the block.
