engine identification inline 6

I'm trying to figure out which engines I got with my '51 Chev pick-up. I found the serial numbers just behind the distibuter on both but I can't find anywhere on the internet to i.d. these. Any help would be great. I also have a SBC I'm just waiting on the phone call with the numbers so if there is a good site to check these myself please let me know.

First one in the truck is: 425268
Second spare engine is: x486534
both inline six.

Thanks,
Sean

Hi
Went to inliners & their casting numbers aren't anything like you have, are there any other numbers on the block?

Nobody there either, I think the one in the box is a 235, and the one in the truck is a 216 according to another site. I think it needs a 383!!!

Hi,
I agree a 383, at a minimum,
then you'll know exactly what engine
you have.
Good luck,
Rich
