I love Qjets.. but when you start making serious h.p they start to show their shortcomings unless you want to invest some SERIOUS time and effort into making them work. for a stock or lightly modified street machine.. hell yea qjet all the way..
i had a similar problem with my holley.. couldn't get the idle mixture screws to effect the idle mixture.. had to have the primaries too far open to get the idle speed right.. I set the primaries with the .020 feeler gauge.. then set the secondaries by trial and error until i got the idle speed close.
then the mixture screws worked great! but that carb had some serious issues, I finally junked it, and bought a brand new holley carb that works awesome
