Does someone know the length of a ford v6 (4.2) compared to small block chevy with short water pump. Just thinking of my tight fit space and wondering what the size of different options might be.

I dont know the legnth of a ford v6 4.2, but i do know for a fact that a sbc block is 21 3/4 inches long and with the long water pump it is 28 1/2 inches long, so that should make a sbc with a short pump like 27 incnes long pretty close. if i remember correct there is like 1 1/2 in difference between short and long pump. Someone correct me if i am wrong. Just trying to help a fellow hotrodder out. Cole

Thanks. That's half the info I need. Hate to ask stupid questions, but I am new to this and need help. Does this 27" include the fan? When I get the ford measurement I want to compare apples to apples. Thanks again for any info I get.

Building a 1937 ford truck as driver. (small engine bay and long legs). 200 ponies should be enough for me as I'm not looking to go fast. Just look good doing it.
