Engine Paint on Valvetrain...

Okay, I painted my SBC heads tonight and masked the important stuff, like ports and valves, but a couple valves did accidently have a bright new hue applied to them? This won't hurt its ability to perform rite? Thanks for any help, I know its a dumb ques.

Nope. The paint will burn off the first time the cylinder fires.

Well if its not Chevy Orange paint the engine can reject it,much in the same way a human can reject the wrong blood type. This could lead to serious problems.

j/k...The engine will be painted chevy orange, don't worry. However, the heads are a really nice looking aluminum color.

Sounds great. You'll have to get some pictures online for us to see.

Good Luck with the build

...Blue paint typically adds another 50 HP...

...and if your ready for the big leagues, try yellow...the power will blow your socks off. :p

4Jaw. I painted my block blue. Those extra 50 really help out. Can't imagine how crappy this 305 would run without it. lol
