Engine painting question

I've read on here that some folks use a single stage autmotive enamel instead of a dedicated engine or high heat When I went to a few automotive paint houses, they claimed thier paints were only good for an upper limit of 260F. (PPG Omni line)

I really dont want to use a pile of rattle cans as this is for an industrial application where I'm painting a flathead engine and generator. I also dont like the thin build of the aerosols, I want a deep glossy, maintenace free shine.

Thanks in advance

My '51 Mercury Flathead was paintd with PPG Concept 6 years ago now. It is holding up extremely well. I have used it on several engines and always had great success. Another benefit is it is impervious to grease and oil.

Check with Eastwood, they sell 2 part engine paint that goes on easy and holds up well. (Only for the outside of the engine)
