Engine Priming

I was just reading a thread on priming an engine. A couple of the comments made were to use the drill in reverse, i.e. counterclockwise, because that's they way the distributor turns.

I've always primed engines clockwise because that's the way the firing order is.

Now I'm speaking to Chevy engines. Do other brands turn the other way...he said hoping not to make an a** of himself.

the distributor in a SBC turns clockwise, so the drill turns clockwise, if the drills in reverse, the pump pumps the opposite way. if it was started in reverse, it would never build oil pressure.
