engine questions

does any body know where I can look at picture of a 350 5.7lg motor out of a blazer 1994 casting numbers 14093638. I don't know if it is a v-belt or a serpentine belt does it take a long water pump or a short if anybody has any good pics of this motor finished with the 4 bolts in the middle of the valve covers I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

yes the guy I got it from told me that it has a serpentine belt. do you know if that motor came with vortec heads or not? He said it has vortec heads but the bolts for the valve covers are in the middle of the cover like a sbc.

The Vortechs didn't come out till '96.

Many TBI engines came with center bolt valve covers and the 4 bolt intakes.

I can't remember exactly where I read this ... (I thought it was motorchrome.com)

Although I can't find the actual statement saying so, this is what I seem to remember.

"Long" or "Short" Water Pump (SBC and /or BBC) can be determined by the position of the alternator.

SWP (Short Water Pump) applications have the alternator on the driver's side.
LWP (Long Water Pump) applications have the alternator on the passenger side.
