Post engine rebuild?

how much would be expected to pay for a rebuild on a 1969 ford inline six 200--i would just want the heads milled a slight over bore and a mild cam that gives me a decent idle but still has got something in her--anyway if i brought the engine to the shop what would i expect to pay--
also how about a rebuild on the tranny thats it hooks up too what would i expect to pay

Post re: engine rebuild?

My friend just brought a old ford in and is getting it bored he said new pistons were around 20-30 a piece and 10.00 a hole for boring. I dont know about milling the head. Im thinkin those are the old pop can pistons that the crank dosent pass through. At any rate it will cost a bit and you may have to mix and match things I dont know of a rebuild kit for one but I realy havent looked. good luck

Boring at $10 per hole??? somebody works pretty cheap! If you are not a numbers match guy, look around for a 250, (no substitute for more inches) they are plentiful and cheap at salvage yards. The rebuild will cost the same anyway. These guys can help you out making that little 6 popper scream!
