Engine stalls..

I'm not exactly sure which forum thread this should be under but I'll give it a try here.
When I go to do a brake stand with my 350, 3 speed, carb, non-posi setup it is impossible to do a quick brake stand. I have to really work it and even then it may stall. When I start with the brake and then go to the gas without letting go of the brake and putting it back on it feels like the rearend is raising itself and then lowering when I let off the gas. A buddy of mine said it may be because the car is running a bit rich at the moment. I was wondering if this is a possible or if it is something else. Maybe the brakes? I have disc on the front and drums on the back.
I have another car with the same setup at my house, 350, carb, nonposi (a bit more HP but not much) and I can burn that tire off in half a second.

Alright.
Its a 1980 Camaro, it originally had a 305 and recently swapped it with a 350 and 650 carb. Stock TH350 tranny, stock rearend, and stock brake system.
Anything else I should type out?

I'll try my hand at answering this one, I usually just ask questions

The raising and lowering of the rear of the car is fairly normal, its the torque of the rearend and stuff.

As far as the stalling, maybe you just have good brakes. My Elky will stall from a brakestand but only when the engine is not up to a decent operating temp.

I was trying to figure out the rearend lift you described. Some coil spring cars like Chevelles run lift bars on the rear diff control arm mounts that do actually lift the rear of the car & push the diff towards the ground when holding the brake & gas. I haven't noticed this with leaf spring cars tho'.
