Engine suffix codes

I recently bought an old truck with what was supposively equiped with a 1967 327 corevette engine. The engine is being removed and going into my 67 chevelle. Turns out that the engine is a 1968. I am having trouble however determining where the two letter engine suffix code is located to determine whether it is a 302/327 or 350. This is important as I am mostly concerned with the horsepower the engine is producing. Could someone please help solve my mystery or direct me to a site that can. I have searched high and low on the block and I am at a stand still.

Thanks for the reply. I am aware of that site and got the block code from there to match the year. However the block codes are all the same for the 302/ 327 and 350. There should be a two letter code somewhere that will determine exactly which one it is. That's what I'm looking for.

The suffix code will be stamped on the block in front of the passenger side cylinder head. Sometimes there is a VIN number stamped to the left side with smaller letters and numbers, the number containing the suffix code will be larger. You are looking for the last two to three characters to be your suffix code. Nastyz28.com has a good list of suffix codes and their application.
