Engine swap

Have 3, 50's restored T-Birds. A 56, I want to do a 5litre engine and tranny swap, has anyone attempted this and can anyone shed some info as to were one might find ready made engine mounts/kit if available, for such a swap.

There is a bunch of them out there, with and without fuelie. The engine looks like it belongs there. Lots of hood clearance.

I haven't done a Bird, just Fairlanes and Falcons, so I can't even tell you which oil pan you need.
But hey, it is just a Ford, so dimensions are pretty much the same forever. It has to be simple and pretty easy.

I'll bet you'll really like it if you use a fuelie 5.0 HO.

Yep, 225 hp and dead-nuts reliable. I googled for the detailed info of such a swap, but came up empty.

I ran across an article on the net that said that the 68 Ford Fairlane was manufactured in Argentina from 1969 through 1981 with the Y block 292 engine in it. (can't find the link right now)
Maybe that speaks volumes for this "reverse" engine swap.

Ford Fairlane in Argentina

The Argentine Ford Fairlane. The four-door sedan of the 1968 body style was built in Argentina from 1969 to 1981 under the Fairlane name with three equipment packages: Standard, 500 and LTD. The car was similar to the American model except the engines. There were two options: a 221 CID 6-cylinder with 132 hp, and the old 292 CID "Y-Block" V8 which had been last used in the 1964 F-Series truck; it was rated at 185 hp. In 1978 the LTD "Elite" option was introduced as the most luxurious car of Argentina. By the end of production in 1981, almost 30,000 Fairlanes had been made.
