oops I ment 4.6 liter v6 not 460.
Yeah, I hear you on getting a day-to-day car, but I like rolling in my 64. It's beautiful, it is fun to work on, it fits all my stuff. I've got the suspension working real nice and the electrial system is coming along. I'd be real sad if I had to lose this car and I can't really have 2 cars... Just not an option... so I'd prefer to do the engine swap.
I like the 289 idea.
The 289 would be almost the same cubes as the 4.6 and the 4.6 has fewer moving parts, so lower over head and it also has efi so I might even get more out of the 4.6 and less weight.
The more I think about it, with a smaller engine I'm probebly gonna want to reduce the gearing on my tranny too. I suppose I could swap out the whole thing, but would it be better to just swap out the rear differentail? Actually, the tranny could use some work as well.
