Engine Swap

What would be the easist bigger engine to put into a trans am then a 305?

i just swapped out my 305 for a 350 and it was pretty simple. i was in a truck but i couldnt think it would be that much harder in a car.

If it was originally a 305 then a 400 SBC would be the largest/easiest swap but they're getting hard to find. Next would be a 383 stroker. 383 crate motors are fairly plentiful. If you want a "previously owned" motor then a 350 is your best bet.

347mustang is right i forgot about that. the 455 olds and the 350 diesel had the same mounting pattern. so all you would need to do is put the 350 diesel engine mounts on the 455 (i know this is true for the 455 olds im not sre about the pontiac though). but after that much of a power increase put in a good th400 and a beefier rear end.
