Engine swap

I have just purchased a 1953 Chevy truck. At this time it hase a 1981 chevy 251 straight six in it and it looks like the motor mounts were modified to adapt to it. I would like to put a 305 or 327 in it instead. How difficult is it to remodify the engine mounts? What techniques do I use to accomplish this or should I seek pro help?
