'89 350 to a '97 454 vortech in the '89 1500
I have a '89 chevy 1500 pickup 2whl or it used to be any way
already swapped the IFS for a D60 but now with 40" boggers
I picked up a 97 vortec 454 with computer and harness and
want to replace the stock 350 with some more horses
What major issues am I gettin myself/buddy into?????
Anyone got any helpfull advice ???
Taking all suggestions Any major wiring problems???
Any space problems????? Got any ideas at alll please don't
hesitate to let me know

Bolt 'er in and go. You might have some issues finding headers since it isn't stock anymore. Just keep replacing all the things that break with beefier parts. Is this a mud bogger? Or just a pavement pounder. We have all sorts of folks here with a very wide knowledge base but I have to wonder why you sign onto a hotrod board to ask this question instead of going to a good 4x4 board??
How old are you? It's nice for the rest of us if you put that in your info so we know who we are dealing with. The response you get will be quite different if you are 35 compared to 14.

Since your style truck had some 454ss trucks, get your headers for a 90-93 454. Also, is this thing gonna be carb'ed or tbi? If its tbi, you could try to locate a used 454 tbi intake and tbi, computer, and harness. You may also need the radiator too.
