engine swap in a s10 blazer

hi guys
im a mechanic by trade.i work on diesel trucks for little Debbie snacks (McKee food inc) i have been kinda out of touch on doing engine swaps on gas engines for a while.i have a 1989 Chevy s10 blazer it has a vary tired 4.3 v6 with tbi in it now and i recently came across a 93 s10 blazer that was wrecked in the front end (didn't appear to hurt the engine) its a 4x4 and mine is a 2 wheel drive.im thinking about swapping the engines and trans to the 89

welcome......the tranny in the 4x4 is different than yours......If you are planning on making yours a 4x4, better to try and put your front end on the 93....the 4x4 is a completely different frame than the 2 wheel drive.

engine swap in a s10 blazer

hey Pancho
i know the trans wont work from the 4x4.i heard i can change out the main shaft and tail shaft housing,i was planing on rebuilding the trans anyways
what i was mainly looking for....when i swap the motor out i will need the wire harness and ecu from the wrecked blazer.will i have a whole bunch of headache's with configuring the harness to work on the older (89) s10..the older s10 has a 4.3 tbi with a 700r4 trans and the newer s10 has a 4.3 votect tpi wit a 4L60 trans. and it has 160.000 miles on it..also what is the horse power difference between the two engines...

thanks Bill Bennett
