Engine build help.

this is my first engine build (im 15) and was wondering what you think about my setup so far.
a 3970010 block .030 over
standard crank standard rods
keith black 193 pistons
keith black rings
fel pro .015 steel shim head gasket
stock cylinder deck (dont know how far down)
vortec heads with minor porting
lunati 60102 cam 1.5 rockers
edelbrock performer rpm intake
rebuilt qjet carb
th350 trans
this is going into a 1969 c-10 long box.
the trans is newly rebuilt but has no stall.
and recommendations would be welcome.
and if someone would be kind enough to run this through your desktop dyno that would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
logan

not sure what your compression chambers look like but those pistons may crash into the head.
Beside 11.2 to one is a tad high for a street motor. They look like they are made for the older open chambered heads, not for vortec heads.JMO
Pin height and block deck is important. you will want to be sure of both so as to keep a good quench in the cylinder with the head gasket you are using.

yes i understand what you are saying. the pistons are not falt with the deck that is why im using a shim gasket. i figure they might be about .021 or so in the hole but i have know idea.

I think you will want flat tops with the vortec heads. You want to keep the gasket thickness and the depth of the pistons from the top of the deck to be around .045 thousanths total
Otherwise .015 gasket, piston tops .030 down in the hole.If your going to push 6000 rpm + then use forged internals.otherwide keep it under 6 grand

It is a street engine so not over 6000. I plan to get the quench to .045 the gasket was just a guess as to where thepistons are down the hole.
