Post engine timming

i just put a new engine in my monte carlo and alot of new parts and it is idealing to high and trying to deisle when i shut the car off. What is my problem? <img src="confused.gif" border="0">

I think you answered it with the name of your post. Sounds like timing to me also make sure your idle speed is set right.

i had the same problem in my regal when i first started it. check your timing spec when you do that make sure your throttle plates arent open that was my problem thtottle plate adjustment

The car runs on because the throtle plates are opened to far and alowwing to much fuel and air in. Helps to support cumbustion after you shut down the spark.
