engine wont turn with plugs in head

hey, i have a 1992 yamaha waverunner 500cc, it's a 2 stroke motor. My problem is that the engine will not turn over with the spark plugs in the cyl head. if i take out the spark plugs and engage the starter it turns freely. i took out the starter and hook it up and it turns and seems to be working fine, but when i put it back on the engine(under load) it will not turn the engine, but like i said earlier if i take out the spark plugs and remove the compression it tunrs freely. any ideas?
battery is brand new.

i guess the easy answer to that one is that the mixture wont combust without a spark to ignite it.... its a two stroke gasoline burning engine and not a diesel,

your battery is weak, and thus not able to deliver the amps nessecary, replace the battery and go sailing...

eheh, nice to feel like a dip**** i was thinking about little 2 stroke nitro 1/4 scale model engines that combust under their own compression. dont deal with any 2 stokes otherwise lol.

Try to clean the starter. The stator may be dirty with carbon and be weak on voltage on the magnets.
