Unhappy engines

have you people ever heard of puting a 383 chrysler in a 1949 plymouth and how could i do this?

HeII, you can put that 383 in anything with a torch and a big hammer. A friend of mine has a 500+ Hemi in an old Omni!

Seriously I don't know how the chassis on that old MoPar but I have a 48 Dodge with a #*+"#^*(non Chrysler) in it and there was plenty of room for it and a 400 turbo. So a 383 should not be that much of a problem. You would probably have to fabricate the mounts and brackets, cooling system and exhaust. But all in all it should be do-able.

T he suspension on the old MoPars is not that much different than later stuff and handles well. I did use a Cavalier rack and pinion steering on the rebuilt stock suspension. A disk brake conversion and dual master under the froor. Also an 8 3/4" rear bolted into the stock leafs.
