re: english wheel

I always thought that Eastwood was a little high on thier prices and that is why I asked the question. I took some of the advise and went looking, the links in Metalmeet yielded some good info, for a benchtop, which looks better than Eastwoods floor model, for half the price, other models around the same. I don't need a big one right now so I think that is the way i'll go.

John, thanks for the info on them I don't shop at Wal Marts and now I'll try to get my friends to stop buying from them.

Randy, I'll be emailing you for that infromation on your friend, he is only 1 hour away from me. Thanks everyone on your input.

re: english wheel

I buy from Jerry Gulley at Gulley Performance Center whenever possible. He carries about anything in the way of metalshaping and fabrication supplies a guy could want.
Give him a call. Please tell him I sent you. (423)967-5251

There are other sources too, so if you want them, please get in touch with me through personal e-mail. rodbuilderandco@frsb.net

They bought dozens from him, then started having them made by cheap labor elsewhere...they are the walmart of automotive tool companies as far as I'm concerned. A less important reason I stay away is the amount of useless junk they sell as must-have to do the job.

I was invited to stans house b4 he had these sold at Eastwood and he is a hard working honest person and that is a shame what they did to him and good enough reason to never shop at Eastwood again. Ed ke6bnl I will second the above message. Ed ke6bnl So. Calif.

IROC-

Take a SERIOUS look at an Imperial Wheel. Absolutely incredible. Your welcome to make a trip to Syracuse and use mine if you'd like. Kerry Pinkerton is a great guy, and he makes the trip to the Syracuse Nationals. If you wait until July, its FREE SHIPPING. He will have one to buy. Let him know. If Dutch is having another metalmeet at his place, Kerry also goes to that in May. Contact Kerry or Dutch. HIGHLY recommended.

re: english wheel

Yes I do. Absolute FANTASTIC guy.

Hows this?

Dutch opened his shop last May for a regional "Metalmeet". This is somewhat of a convention of metal mashing guys from all disciplines. From Pros, like Randy to schmucks like me. Absolute newbies. Dutch, Kerry Pinkerton (Imperial), Randy, and a slew of other metalformers are there teaching everyone what they know. Whats is cost? NOTHING!!! NOTHING !!! We passed a hat to cover some of the expenses like food, sheetmetal, power, etc., but still, I would consider that a ZERO cost ype deal. Dutch opened his shop to 100+ strangers, now friends. I have to tell you, I was only able to be there on Friday, but I was astounded at the commradery of this group. Everyone exchanging ideas. NO ONE HAWKING their goods. Kerry brought up 6 or 8 wheels for guys to try out. Some were sold, sure, but making the trip from Atlanta to NewYork is hardly cheap. Let alone pulling 2-3 tons of steel with you. There were 2 guys from , I think, Sweden. Pretty cool to see. There was people from Minn.,Illinois, Georgia, N.Carolina, etc.
I also spoke to Dutch at the Syracuse Nationals. He was there as an "Ambassador" for metalmeet.com. Beating steel and wheeling it out for 3 days straight with Kerry. Want to talk about an open brotherhood? Check out the sight. The only "bad" words spoken, are those spoken to correct someone rude or out of line. Rarely, if ever seen. I think once? Any questions in regards to metal are answered.

I guess I can't say enough good about guys like Dutch, Kerry or Randy.

I was having a tough time with "tucking" metal to shrink the edges. Kerry came over and showed me, and a few other guys. Since he was dealing with "The 3 Stooges", Randy came over to help him/us out. Talk about a challenge? You gotta see Randy beat metal.
I'm twice the size, but he could outhammer me ANYDAY! Anytime someone thinks there "bad", start swinging a tucking hammer. If you last 15 minutes, your doing good. Randy is nonstop.
Anyways, drop me an email in advance when you get ready to come out.
