epoxy/2k over sanded BC/CC

I am currently working/learning on a 1992 ford mustang. I have recently blocked the fenders out by hand sanding the factory BC/CC. when doing this you sometimes have lets say a feathered area that you can see all of the layers clear/base/primer/steel. My question is as long as the correct grit sandpaper is used and wiped down sufficiently, does the epoxy/2k hi build stick correctly too the different layers w/ out taking everything to steel.
I hope this makes sense.
Thanks!

Yes, epoxy primer will adhere fine to all those and you can block it
after it cures to level out the surface even better.
You can't go wrong with epoxy primer.
2k primer is not intended for bare steel, it sands and levels better than epoxy
and some painters will put 2k over epoxy just for sanding/leveling.
But really, epoxy primer will usually be enough by itself and it also does a
better job of sealing.

epoxy primer will stick to Air

I have been using Epoxy primer on my 65 f-100, and it sticks to everything, I have been taking all the paint down to bare metal and bringing it up with Summit Racing K2 epoxy primer, with a Northern #19418 primer spray gun with a 1.8 tip. I am 66 yrs old and I have learned by listening and by error.
Sand smooth with enough scratches for the epoxy primer to stick, then lay on two coats of primer.

if you had the best of both worlds you would use a buildable epoxy primer thats ez to sand...I rarely use anything but epoxy anymore...
