epoxy alone?
Im putting new inner fender wells and quarter patches on my bronco, im wondering if I should completely remove the black paint or coating that came on the new panels and epoxy them then use weld thru primer on the areas that I use to attatch them. OR should I just leave the black paint/coating on the panels and use weld thru on areas that need it? Im mostly concerned with the upper half of the inner fender well since the bottom/visible side will get a bed liner type coating.

How long will epoxy hold up against the elements on its own?

its always best to remove the blk primer from your replacement panels its just cheap crap and you never know.....
What I like to do on jobs that matter is completely fit the panel including making all the spot(plug weld) weld holes,Then use a good epoxy that I trust on the new panel AND the mating surface..I then refit the panel and using my flat angle spot weld drill ,I remove the epoxy only where the welding holes are,I dont use any weld thru primer on this kind of work I only use the weld thru on run of the mill work where its better than nothing...
A good epoxy all by itself will last just as long as something with paint over it.
