Estimate paint needed

Im going to do a full paint job on my daughters 89 silverado half ton 1500 but i dont know how much paint i will need to redo the outside door jams under hood,it has a full bed liner in it so only tail gate needs painted im cheanging colors on it ,didnt know where to look for answer Thank You.Jim

Depends on the paint you are using and the color of primer underneath. Some paints are more transparent than others. Some with lots of pearl will not cover as good as a solid color. You want a quart to jamb everything. If it were me I would have 2 quarts for the jambs, underhood, edges of tailgate and bed. Then a gallon for the rest of the truck. I would rather have a little left over than not have enough to finish.
