ditch the vic jr intake go with a performer rpm, is the cam a solid flat tappet or hyd roller. we need more information as well like compression ratio. i also think that a 650cfm carb would be enough since i dont think you are going to make much over 400hp.

You're going to have your hands full, he has you more than covered, head-wise, and if he has the 18 degree jobs, forget it.

But a LOT has to do w/how well the cars hook up, what vehicle/tranny/gear ratio/rear tires do you have? If you can out 60 foot him, you may stand a fighting chance. May.

his world heads are flowing around 230-240cfm@ .500". where the factory double humps only got around 200-205cfm@ .500". i dont know how much work has been done to them but i doubt that they are up to 230-240cfm@ .500", maybe around 215-220cfm. you have to remember that those heads are a mid to late 60's designed head where as his heads were designed in the 90's when information and technology was far better.

and again you need to ditch the single plane intake. if you have any chance at beating him it will be on the low end since you have more cubes you should be able to produce a bit better tq at a lower rpm. you want a simple performer rpm intake, it can take a 350 up to around 6500rpm with no problem. and the victor jr intake will cause your power curve to be extremely sharp, you want it more broad. yes with the performer rpm intake you MAY loose about 10hp, but you will have that extra 10hp (more really) at the lower rpms plus you will likely make around 10-20more tq at the lower rpms.

i run a 87' camaro

it depends on what else has been done to the car, which transmisson are you running. if it is the 700r4 you will want to have it rebuilt since this is a far amount of tq for it to handle. what gears are you running. the 7.5" rear is weak but i think it can handle what you are throwing at it. what size tires. what have you done to the suspension.

if the rest of the car is stock then you wont get much better than a high 13, maybe low 14 in the 1/4. you need shorter gears, shift kit, stall, and some minor suspension work.
