[1969Z28_Original]

I recently found out from an aquantince that his brother has a 1969 Z28. the car has never been stored and is currently covered by a piece of plastic, and the motor is seized. Winters in Canada are pretty brutal and having never been stored the car is in pretty rough shape. He's not interested in restoring it and neither are his kids. I am thinking about making him an offer. I already own an original Z28 and am currently restoring it, unfortunately it is not a numbers matching car due to some early issues with the motor and GM replacing it.

Any guess of what it's worth in it's current condition ??

I'm not sure but I saw a 69 RS convertible sell for $14,000.00 a couple of weeks ago. It was not a numbers matching car, it did not have the correct engine. It had no interior and the top mechanism was all missing. I wonder how hard it would be to find all the top parts for a 69 Camaro convertible? It had been owned by a guy that had started a restoration on it years ago and had only went so far and never finished it so it had been sitting in a shed for the last twenty years. It was not complete but what was there looked pretty good.

All that kind of stuff seems to be going up in price around here.

Well if the body carries the right code, the body alone in just about any condition is worth probably $5000 to $8000. If it has a 12 bolt and a 4 speed, even more. 69 Camaro's and Z/28's in particular are fetching absolutely astronomical prices currently. I recently saw a rusted hulk of a body go for $4500 on Ebay and it wasn't even a Z/28.

If you already own one, you probably know more about them than me. I would venture to bet there are more 69 "Z28s" running around that Chevy ever built. I have seen more than one fake passed off as the real thing.
